Is Iran entering Afghanistan's mines?

According to the public relations report of the Iranian Association of Lead Industries and Mines,
the vice-chairman of the Iran Chamber of Commerce announced the investment of economic activists
in Zanjan in Afghanistan's iron ore mines and said that recently offers from Afghanistan
to exploit Hajigak iron ore mine
have been presented to the Iranians.
he added that Iran's mining companies are looking for cooperation with Afghanistan,
because the country's mineral reserves are very impressive.
Qadeer Qiafeh also pointed to the large presence of Chinese in Afghanistan's mines,
especially the Eynak copper mine, and said that the outflow of capital from Iran to Afghanistan
is challenging for the implementation of mining projects.
he clarified that due to the limited iron ore reserves in Iran, importing raw materials from Afghanistan
is a suitable option to meet the needs of the country's steel chain.
The vice president of the Iranian Chamber of Commerce stated that the attractiveness of
Afghanistan's mineral reserves is not limited to iron ore
and includes copper, gold, zinc and chromite.
